Microsoft Flight Simulator: VR will arrive at the end of the year via an update

Good news for virtual pilots around the world, as Asobo Studio has just announced that support for VR is coming soon to Microsoft Flight Simulator. The feature will land via a free update that will be deployed on December 22. Yes you read that correctly, there are only a few more weeks to wait before being able to fully immerse yourself in the game. Better still, we are confirmed that there will be no exclusivity, and that all the headsets available will be supported, whether you have an HTC Vive, Oculus Rift, Valve Index, or Windows Mixed Reality headset. The entire game will be compatible in VR, which means that you can browse the menus without removing your helmet, unlike what was in effect during the alpha.

The VR update was originally slated to land alongside the HP Reverb G2 headset, which released last November. That said, we can only bow to the work carried out by the Bordeaux developers who released this mode so quickly, without stopping to develop content updates. Moreover, after the United States update a few weeks ago, the one dedicated to the United Kingdom (with 60 new landmarks, and new airports) will arrive on January 28.
