Michael Myers Returns: First Gameplay and Halloween Release Date
During the third-party showcase at State of Play, new gameplay footage from Halloween was revealed. The clip shows players either dispatching civilians or desperately trying to flee from a remorseless killer.
The game is presented as an asymmetrical 1-versus-4 horror experience. One player controls Michael Myers while the others take on the roles of ordinary people fighting to survive. The developers will also include a single-player story mode and offline play with bots so the project appeals to those who prefer to avoid online matches.
Of particular note is the involvement of actor Nick Castle, who portrayed Myers in the original films. He provides motion-capture for the killer, which should heighten the horror’s authenticity.
Halloween is slated to launch on September 6, 2026. The game will be released on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
