MGK Squashes Sydney Sweeney Dating Rumors, Eager to Collaborate with Iconic Boy Band

Balancing the joys of fatherhood with baby daughter Saga Blade and a grueling schedule to promote his latest release, Lost Americana, Machine Gun Kelly scarcely has a moment to himself. Perhaps that explains why the dynamic artist snapped off a succinct response when a fan pressed him on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen on August 10.

When probed about whispers linking him romantically to Euphoria star Sydney Sweeney, Kelly locked eyes with the audience, shook his head, grinned, and quipped, “Kyle P… please, man.”

Even though Bob Dylan lends his voice to the Lost Americana trailer, Kelly confessed he still harbors hopes of teaming up with another icon.

In response to which musical legend, past or present, he’d most like to collaborate with, Kelly immediately cited the late Frank Sinatra. “Frank’s voice is untouchable,” he raved. He also revealed he once contemplated asking AJ McLean of the Backstreet Boys if he could join them onstage at the Sphere in Las Vegas to belt out a rendition of “Everybody (Backstreet’s Back).”

So why didn’t he follow through? “I never actually reached out,” Kelly chuckled of his missed opportunity to appear during the Backstreet Boys’ Sphere residency, which began in July and resumes August 15–17.

In the “Textual Behavior” segment, Kelly confessed he has yet to start a “finsta” account but expressed curiosity about the phenomenon. He also mused—à la Mariah Carey—that his own age might be more myth than reality, admitting his grasp on personal details is somewhat hazy.

“My skin scars as if by magic, healing almost instantly,” he added, prompting speculation about supernatural abilities. He even admitted questioning his mother about whether she’d ever vanished without explanation or encountered a “tall, slender being”—a conversation she tied to her own claim of an alleged alien abduction.
