Medieval vs. Firearms — Kingmakers Bursts onto Steam in a Few Days

The game from Redemption Road will enter Early Access on October 8 and will be released on Steam. In a recent update, the developers revealed additional story details.

Players are transported to 15th-century Europe after the protagonist is pulled from the modern day. His objective is to support the rebellion led by Owain Glyndŵr, the Welsh prince who rose up against the English crown.

The team went into depth about the weapon system. Firearms receive special attention: piercing sturdy steel armor will demand calibers significantly larger than 9 mm. Bigger rounds can also penetrate obstacles — for example, walls. According to the developers, weapons in Kingmakers are modeled after real-world examples, although no manufacturer licenses were used.

Combat isn’t limited to firearms. The arsenal includes bows, crossbows, and melee options such as war hammers. The hero also carries a small shield to block incoming blows.

In addition, contemporary vehicles will appear — including a motorcycle and a car.
