Academy Award–winning actor Matthew McConaughey openly shared what he credits as the key to his 13-year marriage. In an interview with Fox News, he said that switching to a medium-sized mattress helped him restore closeness with his wife, Brazilian model and designer Camila Alves.
McConaughey explained that sleeping on a king-size bed felt awkward — he was forced to traverse a large expanse just to reach out and cuddle Camila in his sleep or to pull the covers over her. The couple ultimately traded the oversized bed for a queen-size mattress. Closing that gap made a big difference for their intimacy and quelled unnecessary concerns.
McConaughey and Alves have been together since 2006 and married in 2012. They are raising three children.
