Marvel Rivals has cultivated a reputation for its flair, specifically regarding character skins that tend to lean into provocative, form-fitting designs. With the arrival of a summer-themed collection in the hero shooter, developer NetEase Games was expected to deliver some risqué aesthetics. However, the community has been caught off guard by none other than Steve Rogers, whose new beachwear has become the talk of the town—largely because Captain America is clearly enjoying the warm weather with a bit too much enthusiasm.

It seems the Super Soldier serum has granted him more than just heightened combat reflexes. This new “Seaside Sentinel” skin leaves little to the imagination, suggesting that Cap is carrying quite the heavy load in his patriotic red, white, and blue trunks.

Inspired by the iconic swimsuit visuals from the 1992 Marvel Swimsuit Special—famously illustrated by Joe Phillips and Karl Story—this Epic-tier cosmetic is available in Marvel Rivals through July 31. The game’s official flavor text jokes that while his allies voted for him to handle the grill, his proficiency with a spatula doesn’t quite match his expertise with a vibranium shield.

At first glance, the outfit seems like a standard, breezy beach ensemble. Upon closer inspection, however, it becomes apparent that the developers put a surprising amount of detail into the tailoring of Steve Rogers’ gear.

It is certainly an… equipped look for the battlefield. Beyond the front-facing reveal, the skin also highlights the character’s physique from the back, as showcased in recent gameplay clips.

While the design is somewhat restrained by the cartoonish aesthetic of the pool gear, the player base has been quick to notice that the developers clearly prioritized a certain level of “anatomical accuracy” for the First Avenger.
