Mark Ronson Offers to DJ at Their Wedding: “If You Guys Need a DJ, Travis, Taylor”

Mark Ronson dropped by The Tonight Show on Thursday, Sept. 11, and playfully offered his services as a wedding DJ for Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce after rock band Foreigner publicly suggested they could perform at the couple’s yet-to-be-announced nuptials.

Ronson told host Jimmy Fallon that he’d be happy to spin records for the reception — a lighthearted complement to Foreigner’s bid to be the wedding band. Fallon even chimed in, offering to supply the comedy during the festivities.

“If you guys need a DJ, Travis, Taylor — let’s get on that!”

The conversation also turned reflective. Ronson celebrated Foreigner’s recent induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, a milestone that carried personal weight: the band was co-founded by his stepfather, guitarist Mick Jones. Ronson said he was deeply moved by the honor and admitted he was more excited for that moment than for many of his own accolades.

He noted that Jones, who is living with Parkinson’s, was unable to attend the induction ceremony in Cleveland and watched the event from home with family. Ronson was in Cleveland on the night of the induction but said his stepfather remained at home to join the celebration remotely.

Ronson also discussed his new memoir, Night People: How to Be a DJ in ’90s New York City, a candid look back at his formative years spinning records in clubs. He recalled that Fallon occasionally helped him carry crates of vinyl after gigs — a small but telling detail from those restless nights.

He traced his DJ origins to an early moment: his first time on the turntables came at age 10 during his mother and stepfather’s wedding. That sense of showmanship and risk carried into his later career, when he began blending unexpected genres on the dance floor.

Ronson remembered one risky experiment at a hip-hop party when he slotted AC/DC’s “Back in Black” into a set built around rap anthems. For a tense heartbeat the room froze — then erupted. “The bigger the risk, the bigger the reward,” he said, describing how those boundary-pushing mixes became his signature.

He also recounted the thrill of playing the then-unreleased Notorious B.I.G. track “Hypnotize” for a crowd that heard it for the first time in his booth — a shared, electric moment he likened to witnessing history in real time.

Later on the show Ronson joined Fallon and guest Reese Witherspoon for a round of “True Confessions,” and spun a tall tale about being tucked into bed as a child by the late Robin Williams.
