Marina Vlady has died

French actress and singer of Russian descent, Marina Vlady, has passed away at the age of 88, according to media reports.

The specific cause of death has not been disclosed. Born Yekaterina Marina Vladimirovna Polyakova-Baydarova in 1938 in Clichy-la-Garenne, France, Vlady made her cinematic debut in the 1949 film Summer Storm.

Vlady’s illustrious filmography includes notable works such as Jean-Luc Godard’s 2 or 3 Things I Know About Her, as well as In Search of Captain Grant, Dreams of Russia, The Sorceress, Seven Times a Day, and Days of Love, among others. From 1970 to 1980, she was married to the iconic Soviet bard and actor Vladimir Vysotsky.
