Is there anything Maren Morris can’t do? Apparently not.
On Monday night, the country star made the trip from Nashville to Los Angeles, and stepped into the hosting slot for Jimmy Kimmel Live.
If there were any nerves, she didn’t show it as Morris launched into a monologue on parenthood, LaLa Land, national “Tell a Joke Day,” getting vaccinated and more.
The Grammy Award-winning country star has had a tougher 18 months than most. “Like most people I’ve had a stressful year, mostly because when I wear a mask, my name sounds like Karen,” she quipped. Tougher still, she gave birth to a child in March 2020. “Which means I’ve spent the whole pandemic in quarantine. So basically, this next hour is a vacation for me.”
Morris also performed a new song to guide Americans on where you can and can’t smoke weed. “Blaze across the U.S.A., let’s light up legally. From the purple hazy mountains, from sea to THC,” she sings.
Maren spent the weekend doing research on the topic, apparently.
Speaking of pot, country music legend Willie Nelson zoomed in for a chat from Texas. Willie talked poker, shared tips for raising kids on tour, discussed his autobiography and Willie’s Reserve, his cannabis business.
