Madison Beer to Perform in Fortnite

Madison Beer is joining the Fortnite Icon Series after years of expressing her desire for a collaboration with the game.

The pop star’s outfits and cosmetics debut in the Fortnite Item Shop on Thursday, Sept. 24, at 8 p.m. ET. Beer has played the game frequently since around 2022.

“I would say this is definitely up there with being nominated for a Grammy and playing [Madison Square Garden],” Beer tells Billboard. “There’s things in my life that I am just obsessed with, and that I would die for, and Fortnite is one of them.”

The 27-year-old’s appearance on Hot Ones in February helped convince Epic Games to collaborate with her on a larger scale. She joins artists such as Ariana Grande, Travis Scott, Eminem, and Lady Gaga in the Icon Series, having previously featured emotes in the game.

Beer states she was hands-on with the collaboration, coordinating details such as her gameplay hair.

One of the two outfits is her pink bedazzled angel look from the 2025 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show, featuring thigh-high boots that ignite when reacting to music. “That was a really fun experience, so being a part of this is exciting,” Beer says.

The second outfit is a Fortnite-adapted version of her visual for “Make You Mine,” which includes a heart-filled harness and a holster for her microphone. “It almost reminds me of some OG fits,” she adds.

Beer brings four cosmetics to the Item Shop, including representations of her cats, Mookie and Maple, with intertwined tails. She also included her dog, Presley, and ensured details such as tipped ears on the cats matched reality.

She brings back an older pickaxe style from early Fortnite days with a leg warmer on the handle. Her microphone stand features bulbs and hearts inspired by her Locket Tour microphone, while the pink wings derive from her Victoria’s Secret runway appearance.

Beer also adds emotes for “Yes Baby” and “Bittersweet,” while tracks from Locket and “Complexity” become playable in the Fortnite Festival.

Though she usually plays a Catwoman-inspired latex skin, Beer notes that playing as herself in game modes like Reload at Pleasant Park and Tilted Towers is surreal.

Fans can watch Beer debut her skins and cosmetics on a Twitch livestream on Friday, Sept. 25. Players can also compete in the Madison Beer Icon Cup, starting Thursday in Duos Reload, Duos Zero Build, and Solo Reload game modes.

Beer’s gaming background includes childhood use of a Nintendo DS, followed by Super Mario Galaxy on the Nintendo Wii and Xbox titles like Grand Theft Auto, before adopting Fortnite on a PC setup in 2022.

“I just love Fortnite. I play it a lot. I have always, like, dreamed of [this]. I mean, when I got added to just having an emote, it was like the best day of my life thus far,” Beer tells Billboard. “And so this is obviously just like crazy, and I’m so excited. I appreciate my fans. I feel like they really made this happen too. They’ve been like championing this for me.”
