Machine Gun Kelly Says Ex-Fiancée Megan Fox Was ‘Fuming’ When He Was Praised for Merely Holding Newborn Saga Blade: ‘She Does All the Work’

Machine Gun Kelly has been hard at work promoting his upcoming album Lost Americana, set to arrive on Friday, August 8. On Thursday morning, August 6, he dropped by Today With Jenna and Friends, where hosts Jenna Bush Hager and Matt Rogers surprised him with a custom onesie for his newborn daughter Saga Blade—complete with the Las Culturistas logo—before quizzing him on his new role as a dad.

When asked about life with his almost five-month-old, Kelly smiled, “It’s incredible,” then quickly deflected praise to ex Megan Fox, noting, “She does all the heavy lifting. I’m over here getting labeled the ‘Music Teacher.’” He laughed, recalling how someone recently dubbed him a “good dad” simply for holding little Saga, while Fox mock-scowled at his minimal contributions.

“She’s the real rock star—I just strum a guitar and hope the baby’s happy,” quipped the 35-year-old, who appeared in distressed jeans, a striped tee and a white Lost Americana cap.

Kelly also shared an update on his 16-year-old daughter Casie. Due to a paperwork hiccup, she’ll have to wait until September at the earliest to apply for her learner’s permit. “She’ll get hers long before I get mine,” he joked, adding that he fully expects Casie to chauffeur him to the bank once she’s licensed, since he’s covered all the household expenses so far.

Turning back to music, Kelly revealed plans for a series of intimate, small-venue pop-ups next week, following a secret performance at Cellar Dog in New York’s West Village on Tuesday, August 5, where 300 fans joined him for the debut of “Starman,” a fresh track that interpolates Third Eye Blind’s “Semi-Charmed Life.” Though he’d intended to announce a full tour months ago, he postponed due to the challenging economic climate and a crowded live-music market.

“I know I need to give my fans that experience, so a tour announcement is inevitable,” he said—then stunned Hager and Rogers by showcasing his impressive hula-hoop skills.
