Machine Gun Kelly has been on fire of late. He hit the stage at Chicago’s Lollapalooza Festival, he’ll appear in the forthcoming Jackass Forever film, and a new album, Born With Horns, is on the way.
The first track from it is “Papercuts,” which is accompanied by a trippy music video shot by Cole Bennett.
The clip opens in black and white, with a bald MGK riding down Sunset Boulevard on a motorcycle with oversize horns.
It’s a strange ride in the fast lane, a metaphor for the trappings of fame, as Kelly comes in for some punishment and parties with an assortment of colorful freaks, clowns and what appears to be a Klingon.
The pop-punk number is lifted from MGK’s forthcoming sixth studio album, Born With Horns, on which Travis Barker returns as executive producer.
It’s the followup to Tickets To My Downfall, which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 last October, for MGK’s first leader. A sold-out tour in support of Downfall is scheduled to kick off Sept. 9 in Minneapolis, MN.
There’s no release date yet for Born With Horns.
