As the hip-hop neighborhood continues to grieve following the death of Mac Miller on Friday, Pittsburgh’s Nightfall Records will carry the rapper’s followers collectively Tuesday with an art-filled vigil open to the public on the metropolis’s Blue Slide Park beginning at 5 p.m. ET.
The blue slide playground inside Frick Park impressed the Pittsburgh native when crafting his acclaimed 2011 debut album titled Blue Slide Park. “We wish to carry town collectively in full pressure for this legendary icon,” reads the event’s description. “Mac deserves to be despatched off with a night of celebrating his life, discussing his struggles, and remembering his tales; most significantly for his iconic work that introduced pleasure into the lives of all people who listened. We are welcoming all artists to return and paint, create, draw, reside tribute artwork for this occasion.”
Many artists have paid tribute Mac Miller during recent performances, together with Drake, J. Cole, G-Eazy, Childish Gambino and extra. “I simply wanna say: I really like you, Mac, and I simply wish to let you know that I really like you and this music is for him as a result of I really feel like typically he wished to let go,” Gambino informed his crowd on Saturday night time.
