Lorde Week continues on The Late Late Show, as the Kiwi artist settled in for another performance and a chat with the show’s regular host, James Corden.
For night two of her week-long residency, the Aucklander performed “California,” lifted from her new album Solar Power.
Staying in beach theme, Lorde performed the song on a sandy stage, reclining on a towel with an old-school radio for company. The previous night, she dished the album’s title track.
The Grammy Award-winning “Royals” star also chatted with James Corden about her path into music and her love-hate relationship with social media. Right now, she’s off it. And it’s tough.
“I got rid of Twitter, I got rid of Instagram, I blocked YouTube, that was a big one,” she said. She’s gone cold turkey. Currently, she can’t even use a search engine on her phone. “But now my social network is the New York Times cooking app…that’s become a source of community for me.”
