For the third night of her Late Late Show residency, Lorde brought some melodrama to the stage.
No, really. The New Zealand artist performed “Green Light,” the opening track from Melodrama, her Billboard 200 chart leader from 2017.
After performing two Solar Power tracks earlier in the week, Lorde changed tac, ditched the summery vibe and went torch mode.
Performing on the circular beach set she’s made home in recent days, Lorde kept it tight with a vocals-and-piano rendition. The sundowner backdrop reinforced the mood.
Solar Power, Lorde’s third album, dropped last Friday.
