Lizzy Caplan cast in lead role for Fargo creator’s Far Cry series

The Mean Girls star has joined the cast of the upcoming Ubisoft shooter adaptation.

Deadline reported that Lizzy Caplan, known for Masters of Sex and Now You See Me 3, secured a lead role in the debut season of the Far Cry series. She joins Rob McElhenney, the first confirmed cast member. McElhenney will act in the show and serve as an executive producer. Producers have not yet disclosed details about Caplan’s character.

Plot specifics remain confidential. The adaptation will follow an anthology format familiar to fans of the Ubisoft franchise. Each season features a standalone story set in a new location with a fresh cast. The setting for the first season remains unannounced.

Noah Hawley, the creator of Fargo and Alien: Earth, serves as the showrunner. FX Productions and Ubisoft Film & Television are producing the project. The studios have not yet set dates for filming or the series premiere.
