<p>From Software’s Elden Ring franchise is having a big year. We learned last month that it surpassed <a href=”https://www.gameinformer.com/2025/04/28/elden-ring-celebrates-30-million-copies-shipped”>30 million copies shipped</a>, and the multiplayer spin-off, <a href=”https://www.gameinformer.com/2025/04/01/check-out-elden-ring-nightreigns-bow-wielding-ironeye”>Elden Ring: Nightreign</a>, launches next week. Now, publisher Bandai Namco has revealed it is working on a live-action film adaptation of Elden Ring, and it’s tapped production company A24 (<em>Hereditary</em>, <em>Everything Everywhere All At Once</em>, and the <a href=”https://www.gameinformer.com/2025/04/07/death-stranding-movie-lands-the-director-of-a-quiet-place-day-one”>in-the-works <em>Death Stranding</em> adaptation</a>) and director Alex Garland (<em>Ex Machina</em>, <em>Annihilation</em>, <em>Civil War</em>) to helm it.</p><p>Unfortunately, this announcement is as mysterious and filled with unknowns. There’s no word on what parts of Elden Ring the film will adapt, who’s writing the movie, or when it’s planning to hit theaters.</p><iframe width=”560″ height=”315″ frameBorder=”0″ width=”640″ height=”360″ src=”https://www.youtube.com/embed/YW2Jz0JgyZs” frameborder=”0″ allow=”autoplay” allowfullscreen=”true”> </iframe><p><a href=”https://www.gameinformer.com/product/elden-ring”>Elden Ring</a> launched in February of 2022 and quickly became a phenomenon, <a href=”https://www.gameinformer.com/2022/03/16/elden-ring-sells-12-million-copies-in-less-than-three-weeks-from-software-expanding-the”>selling 12 million copies in less than three weeks</a>. <em>Game Informer</em> gave it a 10 out of 10 in our <a href=”https://www.gameinformer.com/review/elden-ring/absolutely-astonishing-adventure”>review</a>, and <a href=”https://www.gameinformer.com/review/elden-ring-shadow-of-the-erdtree/an-emphatic-exclamation-point”>we loved its Shadow of the Erdtree expansion</a> too.</p><p>While waiting to learn more about this adaptation, catch up on <a href=”https://www.gameinformer.com/product/elden-ring-nightreign”>Elden Ring: Nightreign</a> before it hits PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC on May 30.</p><p><em>What storyline from Elden Ring do you want this movie to adapt?
