R.E.M. have launched their 2004 reside recording of “E-Bow the Letter” with Thom Yorke, forward of their new BBC Sessions box set. Check it out beneath, via Shortlist. The New Adventures in Hi-Fi observe, launched as a single in 1996, initially featured backing vocals from Patti Smith.
Thom Yorke was no stranger to R.E.M. levels: Radiohead supported R.E.M. on their 1995 Monster tour, the place Michael Stipe famously suggested him on tips on how to take care of fame. In 1998, the pair duetted on “E-Bow the Letter” on the Tibetan Freedom Concert, and the collaboration often resurfaced in setlists through the years. The 2004 recording was made at St. James’ Church in London, the place Yorke made a shock look.
R.E.M. on the BBC is out October 19 by way of Craft. Yorke’s Suspiria (Music for the Luca Guadagnino Film) arrives subsequent month.
