The must-hear rap song of the day
Given Lucifer’s name, it’s not surprising that their SoundCloud page is loaded with biblical references. I have no idea what any of it means, but what I do know is that the songs whip. The crashing instrumental of “1006 Anthem,” a track on the new tape Everything Must Go, could cause the Earth to cave into itself; it rams together sputtering drums and noise that sounds like firing laser beams. Lucifer’s lyrics get lost in this fray of pummeling glitchy beats, and it’s hard to understand what he’s saying. That doesn’t really matter though because it all just sounds cool.
With artists releasing songs at a fast and furious pace, it’s difficult for the average hip-hop head to keep track of it all—no matter how tapped in they are. That’s why we created The Ones, a daily post to highlight the song you need to hear.
