HideWorks successfully drew attention to its survival-horror Liminal Point. However, that attention hasn’t come without controversy.
The project was noticed not only by everyday gamers but also by devoted Resident Evil fans, who quickly pointed out an uncanny resemblance between the protagonist and Capcom’s Claire Redfield.
The Liminal Point developer replied to social media posts — addressing the perceived similarity to Claire and explaining the revealing outfit as an element of the game’s lore:
«1) She was never intended to look like Claire; that was never part of our plan. If you watch our earlier clips, she had short chestnut hair. As we refined her design, however, it became clear that red hair paired best with the black clothing and gave her more visual dynamism against the background.
2) She’s a former alternative rock star, so… that kind of wardrobe suits her.»
