Lil Nas X’s debut album now has a big release date.
The chart-topping hip-hop star sets a Sept. 17 release date for Montero, via Columbia Records.
“Creating this album has been therapy for me,” he says in a statement. “I’ve learned to let go of trying to control people’s perception of who I am, what I can do, and where I will be. I’ve realized the only opinion of me that really matters is my own.”
Montero will, of course, feature the hit single “Montero (Call Me by Your Name),” which blasted to No. 1 on the Billboard 100 in April, his second leader after “Old Town Road” ruled for a record 19 week in 2019.
Earlier this week, Lil Nas X (real name Montero Lamar Hill) was named chief impact officer at Taco Bell, as part of an alliance that will see the fast-food chain support the new album release in its marketing and across its outlets.
