Brandon Perea (“Nope”, “Twister 2”) has been chosen to headline the sixth installment of the Insidious franchise, Deadline reports.
Production is currently taking place in Australia. The film is scheduled for release on August 21, 2026. Story details are being kept confidential. Jacob Chase (“Come Play”) is directing.
James Wan’s Insidious premiered in 2010 and starred Patrick Wilson and Rose Byrne. The five films in the series have collectively grossed about $740 million worldwide. The most recent entry, Insidious: The Red Door, was released in 2023.
This week, a fantasy-romance featuring Perea, titled “The Big Bold Beautiful Journey,” opened in international release.
