Lauren Daigle Becomes First Artist to Top 5 Christian Charts Simultaneously

“To have that reception feels so good,” the quintuple queen tells Billboard.

Singer-songwriter Lauren Daigle leads all 5 of Billboard‘s important Christian charts (dated Sept. 22) concurrently, marking the primary time that any artist has achieved the fivefold feat.

Daigle dominates Top Christian Albums along with her second studio LP, Look Up Child, which launches at No. 1, and Hot Christian Songs, Christian Airplay, Christian Streaming Songs and Christian Digital Song Sales with the set’s lead single, “You Say.”

“We’re all pinching ourselves,” Daigle advised Billboard upon listening to the information. “What’s humorous is, all of us make targets, all of us say, ‘Oh, let’s shoot for this or let’s shoot for that. Let’s maintain the zeal and the starvation for all of this alive.’ And then, you swing for the fence and hope for the perfect. You work onerous and there are moments the place you are like, ‘Man, is any of this effort going to work?’

“[Then] all of the items start to suit. I advised my supervisor, ‘You know, we may have been celebrating the truth that I fell in love with music over again. I acquired to jot down a file that I’ve been ready to jot down’ … simply the enjoyment and thrill of all that. But not solely are we attending to have fun all these issues, now we’re partnering with the remainder of the nation being excited, as effectively. To have that kind of reception and that kind of welcome again, it feels so good.”

Look Up Child, Daigle’s follow-up to 2015’s How Can It Be, debuts at No. 1 on Top Christian Albums with 115,000 equal album items (103,000 in conventional album gross sales) within the week ending Sept. 13, in line with Nielsen Music.

Concurrently, “You Say” guidelines the streaming, airplay and sales-fueled Hot Christian Songs chart for a ninth week. It paces Christian Digital Song Sales for a ninth week (10,000 bought, down 41 p.c); Christian Streaming Songs for a seventh week (5.eight million U.S. streams, up 14 p.c); and Christian Airplay for a second body (9.9 million viewers impressions, up 5 p.c).

Prior to Daigle, a number of acts led as many as three Christian charts concurrently. MercyMe had final earned the excellence on charts dated March 31, when the band’s 1999 basic “I Can Only Imagine,” sparked by the arrival of the film of the identical title, climbed 2-1 on Hot Christian Songs, because it topped Christian Digital Song Sales, and I Can Only Imagine: The Very Best of Mercy Me led Top Christian Albums.

Also earlier than Daigle, Hillary Scott & The Scott Family was the final act fronted by a feminine to prime three Christian charts concurrently. On Aug. 20, 2016, Love Remains (Scott’s first set other than Lady Antebellum) debuted at No. 1 on Top Christian Albums, whereas its lead single “Thy Will” led Hot Christian Songs and Christian Digital Song Sales.
