Laura Bailey Joins Cast of The Last of Us Season 3 to Play Abby

The creators of the adaptation continue to find new roles for actors from Naughty Dog games.

Laura Bailey, who played Abby in The Last of Us Part II, has landed a role in the third season of the HBO series The Last of Us. In the adaptation, the actress will portray Elizabeth, one of the leaders of the Seraphite religious community. This marks Bailey’s second appearance in the series, following her cameo role as a nurse in the Firefly operating room during the season one finale.

The cast has also added John Goodman and Ian Alexander, who played Lev in The Last of Us Part II. Goodman and Alexander have been cast as Joey and Paco, a friendly duo who call themselves the “Highway Heroes.” These characters did not appear in the original game, so their role in the story remains unknown.

The third season of The Last of Us will cover the events of The Last of Us Part II from Abby’s perspective. It is scheduled to premiere in 2027, though an exact release date has not yet been announced.
