Laufey and Clairo Rate Taylor Swift’s Albums During a Spicy Wings Challenge on ‘Hot Ones Versus’

As both Laufey and Clairo traverse arenas on their current tours, they’ve shifted their focus to Eras Tour sensation Taylor Swift, debating which of her albums reigns supreme.

In the latest episode of Hot Ones Versus, the singers posed increasingly tricky questions to each other—skipping an answer meant taking a bite of one of the scorching hot wings in front of them. At one point, Clairo challenged the self-proclaimed “ultimate Swiftie” Laufey to rank four of Swift’s seminal albums—Fearless, Red, 1989, and Lover—from most to least adored.

“My order would be: Fearless on top, followed by Red, then 1989, with Lover at the bottom,” Laufey declared. Clairo largely concurred, though she confessed she might place 1989 above Red. She also admitted it felt strange to see Lover last: “Considering ‘False God’ from Lover is my favorite Swift track, the album’s spot at the end feels off.”

They then sang praises for Swift’s intimate records, Folklore and Evermore. “I’m a fan of both,” Laufey shared. “If pushed, I’d pick Evermore as my top choice—maybe because it feels a bit underrated.”

Viewers seeking a fiery spectacle were not disappointed. Earlier, Laufey asked Clairo which of her peers—Billie Eilish, Dua Lipa, or Charli XCX—she’d least want to tour with. “I love them all… so does that mean I’m still eating a wing?” Clairo replied with a grin before taking the plunge. “I’ll just act normal and hope it’s all good.”
