Lady Gaga Unveils ‘The Dead Dance’ Release Date for Wednesday Season 2 Single

Whether they’re stirring in their beds or summoned from the beyond, Little Monsters everywhere are awakening after Lady Gaga unveiled the release date for her eerie new single, “The Dead Dance.”

On the evening of August 28, the pop icon graced Netflix and Spotify’s “Graveyard Gala” in New York City, part of the promotional festivities for Season 2 of Wednesday. Sharing the stage with Jenna Ortega, Emma Myers and Joy Sunday, Gaga announced that the long-rumored track will debut alongside the second half of the series on September 3.

“It’s woven into the narrative, and I can’t wait for you to experience it,” Gaga told an enthusiastic crowd, before revealing that attendees would enjoy an exclusive first listen inside coffin-inspired listening booths. “Make yourselves at home in your caskets,” she quipped.

Reflecting on her time on set, the “Bad Romance” singer expressed gratitude to the cast and crew for elevating her cameo. “Filming Wednesday Season 2 was a joy,” she said. “Working with Tim Burton, Jenna, and everyone involved was truly special.”

A freshly released trailer for the upcoming episodes hinted at Gaga’s involvement: although she doesn’t appear on screen, a final voiceover—a chilling whisper unmistakably hers—warns Ortega’s titular heroine, “Beware — there will be a price to pay.”

This announcement coincides with Gaga’s ongoing Mayhem Ball residency in New York. Following four sold-out nights at Madison Square Garden, she returns for her concluding performances on September 6 and 7.
