Lady Gaga to Reclaim the Spotlight at the 2025 MTV VMAs

On August 30, MTV confirmed that the 39-year-old pop luminary will take the stage at New York’s UBS Arena on September 7 at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT. Veteran rapper and actor LL Cool J is set to host the live broadcast.

“Calling all Little Monsters to COME TO THE FRONT! Why? Because MOTHER MONSTER HERSELF is performing at the 2025 #VMAs!!!!” the network declared on X, igniting fan excitement.

Joining Gaga’s electrifying return is an all-star lineup featuring Jelly Roll, Doja Cat, Post Malone, Tate McRae, Mariah Carey, Sabrina Carpenter and J Balvin.

This marks Gaga’s first VMAs showcase since 2020, the year she walked away with Artist of the Year and Song of the Year honors for her collaboration “Rain on Me.”

In the lead-up to the show, Gaga has been teasing her next single, “Dead Dance,” due to drop on September 3. The track will feature in Netflix’s series Wednesday, starring Jenna Ortega, in which Gaga will make a surprise cameo.

“Dead Dance” represents Gaga’s first new music since her album Mayhem debuted atop the Billboard 200 in March. She is currently supporting the record on her ongoing Mayhem Ball tour.

This year’s ceremony will air for the first time on CBS, simulcast on MTV and available to stream live on Paramount+ in the U.S.
