Lady Gaga is back on the red carpet in a big way. The House of Gucci star stepped out for the U.K. premiere of the movie in London on Tuesday (Nov. 9), and stunned in a billowing purple gown that, unsurprisingly, was plucked straight from Gucci’s spring 2022 Love Parade runway show that took place in Los Angeles last week.
Gaga — who posed along co-stars Adam Driver, Jared Leto and Salma Hayek on the carpet — turned heads in a royal purple pleated-chiffon floor-length gown from Gucci’s latest collection, making her the first star to be publicly seen wearing a look from the ready-to-wear line since the fashion show. To complete the look, Gaga wore thigh-high black fishnet stockings from the collection, which were on display thanks to the daring slit of the dress, and topped off the ensemble with her signature platform Mother Monster heels.
The 35-year-old walked the carpet with the opulence of her House of Gucci character Patrizia Reggiani. Speaking with British Vogue about the role, Gaga revealed that she never took the step to meet Reggiani while making the film. “I only felt that I could truly do this story justice if I approached it with the eye of a curious woman who was interested in possessing a journalistic spirit so that I could read between the lines of what was happening in the film’s scenes,” the singer told the magazine, adding that “nobody was going to tell me who Patrizia Gucci was. Not even Patrizia Gucci.”
House of Gucci will arrive in theaters ahead of Thanksgiving this year on Nov. 24. See Gaga as Reggiani in the official trailer below.
