Kotobukiya Opens Preorders for Kojima Productions Ludens Model Kit

Kotobukiya is scheduled to release a plastic model kit in 2027 that allows fans to display Ludens, the mascot and logo of Kojima Productions, at home. This new product was created under the full direction of art director and artist Yoji Shinkawa.

Kotobukiya has opened preorders for this unusual collectible item. Fans of game designer Hideo Kojima can purchase the Ludens figure right now for 11,000 Japanese yen ($71).

The figure depicts the mascot and logo of Kojima Productions. Ludens wears an EVA (Extra-Vehicular Activity) creative suit and holds a flag bearing the Kojima Productions logo, which is modeled after Ludens himself. The character is known from the “Kojima Productions logo movie,” in which he walks across the lunar surface in a spacesuit and plants the studio flag featuring his own image.

Unlike classic pre-built figures, this new product requires assembly from parts on runners. Its main advantage is snap-fit assembly that requires no glue, and the parts are already molded in the correct colors so painting is optional.

The kit includes four sets of interchangeable hand parts, decals featuring warning signs for various parts of the model along with the Kojima Productions logo, and two types of mask eye parts: a pre-painted piece and an unpainted piece with sculpted eyes.

The flag is available in two versions: clear green and black. The model is equipped with multiple 3mm connection points, making it compatible with existing weapons and armor from the M.S.G, Frame Arms, and Frame Arms Girl series.

Made from polystyrene, ABS plastic, and PVC, the figure stands 19 cm tall. Its release is expected in March 2027.
