Peach PRC, a TikTok star with more than 1.5 million followers on the platform, is forging ahead with her music career through a global publishing agreement with Kobalt, Billboard can exclusively reveal.
The arrangement will see Peach PRC (real name Shaylee Jade Curnow) plug into Kobalt’s creative, sync, and administration services for her catalog and future works.
Peach PRC is ripe for the next level. Since launching her TikTok page two years ago, the rising artist has built a deep with her followers by way of posting anecdotes, advice, life stories and, naturally, music.
So far, releases such as “Blondes,” Colourblind,” “Josh,” and “Symptomatic” have accumulated more than 30 million streams.
“Kobalt have been in contact ever since my songs started connecting with people from early last year,” she explains in a statement. “They have been very patient and kind and I’m so grateful that they have faith in me as a writer. I’m really looking forward to collaborating with their other writers and the global team.”
Peach PRC’s co-manager Paul Paoliello notes that his artist has received “a lot of interest” from the publishing community, though Kobalt won her signature through “great desire and persistence.”
Simon Moor, managing director, Australia and APAC, Kobalt, notes, on listening to Peach’s creations, “there was something more to these songs, an honesty that you don’t often hear in pop music.”
Peach PRC’s new single “Heavy” dropped last Friday and has already racked up 300,000 views on YouTube. Watch below.
