A bunch of about 150 artists and executives have signed a brand new open letter addressed to SiriusXM’s company guardian, Liberty Media, declaring their intentions to boycott the satellite tv for pc radio firm in help of the Music Modernization Act (MMA). The MMA is a legislative push in the direction of modernizing copyright safety for songwriters and artists alike within the digital and streaming age. SiriusXM have opposed parts of the invoice, making them the one remaining opposition to its passing. Kim Gordon, Stevie Nicks, Paul McCartney, Karen O, Mick Fleetwood, Katy Perry, Sia, The Pixies’ Joey Santiago, Alessia Cara, Charlie Puth, and lots of others are boycotting SiriusXM. Read the complete letter, penned by songwriter Ross Golan, through Variety.

SiriusXM have since responded to the letter with steered amendments. Earlier this 12 months, the MMA invoice was handed unanimously within the Senate Judiciary Committee and House of Representatives.
