Kelly Osbourne Explains How She Found Her Smile Again After Mourning Ozzy Osbourne’s Death

Kelly Osbourne is embarking on a new journey of healing, discovering unexpected sources of joy after the loss of her father, Black Sabbath legend Ozzy Osbourne.
On September 8, the singer and television personality revealed via Instagram Stories that falconry has rekindled her smile. Pictured beaming, she cradles a barn owl perched on her gloved hand. “Amid my grief, I stumbled upon something that truly uplifts me,” she wrote. “I never imagined falconry could bring back my happiness, but it has. I’m completely captivated by these magnificent birds!”
Earlier in the weekend, Osbourne shared two videos: one showing an owl swooping in to land on her arm, the other capturing the moment it soared gracefully to claim a morsel of meat from her fingers. A third clip shows her marveling as the owl returns to her side, sweetly asking, “Do you want some chicken?”
Following Ozzy Osbourne’s passing at age 76 in late July, Kelly honored her father on July 24 by quoting the Black Sabbath classic “Changes”: “I feel unhappy, I am so sad. I lost the best friend I ever had.”
In early August, she reflected on the ebb and flow of grief and thanked fans for their support: “Grief washes over you in waves. I won’t be OK for a while, but knowing we’re not alone in our pain gives me strength. I’m holding tight to the love, light and legacy he left behind.”
