Kelly Osbourne Blasts WWE “Dirtbag” for Disrespectful Joke About Ozzy Osbourne’s Death

Kelly Osbourne has responded sharply to wrestler Becky Lynch’s “disrespectful” jibe about Ozzy Osbourne, delivered scarcely a month after his passing.

In an Instagram Stories update on Tuesday, August 26, Kelly labeled Lynch “a disrespectful dirtbag,” quipping, “Birmingham wouldn’t even unleash water on you if you were ablaze.”

“It’s shameful that WWE permits such remarks about my father and his hometown,” the Fashion Police alum added.

Her riposte follows Lynch’s appearance on Netflix’s WWE RAW, broadcast live from Birmingham, England, on Monday, August 25. During on-camera banter with Nikki Bella ahead of their Women’s Intercontinental Championship match in Paris, Lynch delivered a scathing reply when Bella challenged her to fight on the spot.

“I’m not wrestling in Birmingham,” Lynch sneered. “The only good thing that came out of here died a month ago.”

The crowd booed as she continued, “To be fair, Ozzy Osbourne had the sense to relocate to L.A., a proper city. If I’d stayed in Birmingham, I’d probably have kicked the bucket too.”

Billboard has reached out to WWE and Netflix for comment.

Given Ozzy’s enduring love for his birthplace, it’s understandable that his family was incensed by Lynch’s barb—especially so soon after his death. In July, Ozzy and Black Sabbath delivered their final concert in Birmingham, and less than a month later, the city hosted his funeral procession.

Ozzy Osbourne—inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2021—passed away at 76 after a battle with Parkinson’s disease and related health complications. His death prompted a flood of tributes from the music community.

Kelly took several days before addressing her father’s passing publicly. On August 4, she wrote, “I’ve drafted this message countless times and still wonder if any words can truly capture my gratitude… from the depths of my heart, thank you.”

She continued, “Your love, support, and heartfelt messages have carried me through the most difficult time of my life. Every shared memory and act of kindness has meant more than I can express. I won’t be okay for a while, but knowing we are not alone in our grief offers some solace.”
