Keeper from the creators of Psychonauts arrives on Xbox — preload available and small file size

Preloading is now available for the Xbox Series X|S edition of Keeper, the puzzle-adventure from Xbox Game Studios and Double Fine Productions, and the game’s download size has been revealed.

Keeper can be preloaded on Xbox Series X|S consoles, which has disclosed the exact file size. The game requires a relatively modest 25.43 GB of storage on Xbox.

The preload includes the latest update for digital pre-orders, though a day-one patch may still arrive closer to the October 17, 2025 release. For comparison, Psychonauts 2 from the same developer occupied 30.24 GB on Xbox.

Regarding Double Fine Productions’ future plans, studio founder Tim Schafer said in a recent interview that the team is working on “several games” alongside Keeper, each representing a new intellectual property. The emphasis on original projects highlights the studio’s aim to broaden its creative portfolio rather than rely on existing franchises.
