Kacey Musgraves does her best Oscar the Grouch in new images from her collaboration with fashion house Moschino on a Sesame Street collection. In the Jeremy Scott-shot series of shots, Musgraves shows off what Moschino calls her “Big Bird Energy,” as she rocks a series of t-shirts featuring Elmo in streetwear and wrapping her teeth around a chunky Moschino gold chain.
The singer even used her new gig as a way to comment on the ceaseless questions about her follow-up to 2018’s smash Golden Hour album, posting a GIF in which Kacey the Grouch stands in a garbage can wearing her Oscar t-shirt and Moschino chain while tossing a banana peel with the message, “If y’all ask me where the album is one more time…”
In another, she’s modeling a Sesame hoodie and shorts and explaining, “It’s garbage CAN not garbage CANNOT, thank u.” The singer hit all the Street-savvy notes in another series, chomping on cookies while modeling some SS sweats and an alphabet t-shirt. The 33-piece collection will launch around the world on May 25.
Last month, Interscope Records and UMG Nashville announced a partnership through which the labels will jointly release Musgraves’ upcoming fifth album, which is due out later this year. A source told Billboard that the partnership is currently only for one album and will see the labels collaborate on marketing, radio promotion and international marketing.
