Justin Timberlake Was Filmed Working at Target & Lance Bass Has a Joke About It

Justin Timberlake is dishing out some top-notch service! The singer apparently got to work recently, and not in a suit and tie. No, Timberlake was filmed by a Target shopper not browsing the aisles, but seemingly working the cash register at the retailer.

In a clip shared to TikTok Thursday (Aug. 19), Timberlake — dressed in a pullover jacket and Montana beanie — can be seen scanning a tin of Ice Breakers as the shopper tells him he got a drink and a speaker. JT then asks, “What else did you want?” The shopper responded that he’d like some gum too, so the pop superstar grabs the item from the shelf next to him, and scans that too before confusingly putting it back on the display.

“Justin Timberlake said post this for the naysayers,” TikToker Douglas Anthony wrote over his clip. His hashtag also noted, “HeSaidNoHateAndHeWillStartATikTok.” In the caption of the video, he also hashtagged the star’s name, as well as Colorado, hinting the video was taken at a Target in the Centennial State.

The video has already earned more than 1.2 million views and nearly 27,000 likes. Among those who have seen the clip is Timberlake’s fellow *NSYNC member Lance Bass.

“This guy looks oddly familiar. I can’t place it,” Bass joked.

Other viewers were a bit baffled by what JT was doing. “Wait was he working at tagert [sic] I thought he was still making songs,” commented one person.

“I’m kind of confused by what’s going on here but entertained,” added another TikToker.

“Why did he scan it and put it back on the rack,” wondered one viewer. “I know he’s never had this kind of job but… Has he never been in a store before this?”

As for those who aren’t sure the video is the real deal? There’s proof that it is. Another clip Anthony shared days earlier on TikTok shows himself and the “SexyBack” singer dancing in a Walmart parking lot. In this clip, Timberlake is wearing the same outfit as in the Target video.

And one final piece of evidence that JT working the Target register was no fake? The man himself shared the TikTok video on his Instagram Stories himself Friday (Aug. 20). He wrote above the clip, “Haters Gonna Say It’s Fake…”
