The creator of Fallout: New Vegas does not mind the creative liberties taken by the showrunners of the Fallout series.

Director Josh Sawyer praised the Amazon adaptation, calling it one of the best video game translations he has seen. During an interview with The 41st Precinct, the developer admitted he would have handled some narrative choices differently, though he framed these points as preferences rather than criticism.

Sawyer addressed fan complaints regarding inconsistencies between the show and his game. He pointed to the Dinky the Dinosaur statue in Novac, which faces the opposite direction in the television series.

Bethesda executive Todd Howard confirmed that pre-production for the third season is finished. Filming starts this month in Los Angeles. The new cast includes Manny Jacinto, Thomasin McKenzie, Emily Mortimer, and Aaron Paul.
