Jon Bon Jovi on Becoming a Grandfather After Jake Bongiovi and Millie Bobby Brown’s Adoption

Jon Bon Jovi says he and his wife, Dorothea Hurley, have embraced their newest family member after Millie Bobby Brown and Jake Bongiovi welcomed a daughter through adoption. Speaking on Bunnie xo’s Dumb Blonde podcast, Bon Jovi called the experience surprising and joyous.
The couple announced the adoption in a joint statement on Aug. 21: “This summer, we welcomed our sweet baby girl through adoption.” The family has since introduced the child to relatives, and Bon Jovi, clearly delighted, described the moment as instantly familial.
Reflecting on meeting the baby, he said the child “immediately…becomes your grandchild,” and added that he’s already the kind of grandfather who wants photos every day. His warmth underscored how quickly the little one was welcomed into the family fold.
Brown, 21, and Bongiovi, 23, married after about three years together. Bon Jovi defended their early steps into marriage and parenthood, noting that the pair have shown maturity beyond their years and have his full support.
He also praised Brown’s character and work ethic, calling her a “sweetheart” and commending how hard she works — sentiments he says he shares with many in the family.
Bon Jovi’s appearance on Dumb Blonde comes as his band prepares Forever (Legendary Edition), a reissue of their 2024 album featuring collaborations with artists such as Avril Lavigne, Bruce Springsteen and James Bay. Jelly Roll contributes vocals to the track “Living Proof,” and the release is scheduled for Oct. 24.
