JoJo Siwa Confirms Kylie Prew Breakup: ‘Right Person, Wrong Time’

Just days after reports surfaced about JoJo Siwa ending her relationship with Kylie Prew, the 18-year-old star is ready to confirm the news.

On the latest episode of Paris Hilton‘s podcast This Is Paris, Siwa joined the “Stars Are Blind” singer for a candid interview, in which she revealed that she and Prew had officially ended their romantic relationship. “We broke up,” she said, before making it clear that there is no bad blood between the two of them. “She is still literally my best friend. I talked to her yesterday, she just got a new puppy, she’s awesome. She’s having the time of her life, I’m having the time of my life.”

Continuing, Siwa said she was glad to know they will to continue to be a part of each other’s lives. “I’m really lucky that I didn’t lose her completely because even though relationships end, friendships don’t have to end,” she said. “That’s something that I didn’t even know could happen, and I was very thankful that it can, because it’s all I wanted.”

Ending her first public statement about the spilt since it happened, Siwa reiterated that there was no “bad” reason why the two split — they simply felt their relationship had run its course. “I’m really happy that I remember all the fun times, all the good times. Nothing bad happened,” she said. “It just is the definition of the cheesy saying of ‘right person, wrong time.'”

Siwa officially announced that she was in a relationship to the world back in February 2021, when Siwa told Jimmy Fallon during an interview on The Tonight Show about her coming out that she had “the most amazing, wonderful, perfect, most beautiful girlfriend in the whole world.” The pair celebrated their one-month anniversary four days later in an Instagram post, making their relationship official to the public.

Siwa, who is currently managed by Caryn Sterling and represented by CAA, has made her Billboard chart debut back in January 2019, when her EP D.R.E.A.M The Music appeared on the Kid Albums chart at No. 22. She’s landed on the same chart twice more since then, with her subsequent projects Celebrate and JoJo’s Rockin’ Christmas. Recently, Siwa accused Nickelodeon of allegedly blocking her performing songs from her original movie The J Team on her upcoming tour. The star has since said that, despite this pushback, she plans to “sing what I want” during her shows.
