John Wicks, frontman of the UK energy pop band the Records, has died, LA Weekly stories. He was 65 years previous. Wicks died following a battle with pancreatic most cancers, the Records’ supervisor tells Pitchfork.

John Wicks co-founded the Records in London in 1978. The group made three albums for VirginShades in Bed (1979), Crashes (1980), and Music on Both Sides (1982)—earlier than disbanding in 1982. Wicks reformed the Records in 1994 with a brand new lineup. The Records had been greatest recognized for his or her single “Starry Eyes,” which hit No. 56 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1979.
