John Mayer to Headline Six-Night Residency at the Las Vegas Sphere Titled Meet Me Where the Light Is

John Mayer will play a series of six shows at the Sphere in Las Vegas next spring, featuring solo, full-band and trio sets, as announced Monday (Sept. 28).

“Meet me where the light is…,” Mayer wrote on Instagram, sharing the news alongside a video of the venue’s exterior displaying images of him in Sin City. “I can’t wait to show you what I’m putting together. See you at Sphere.”

The Dead & Co. musician’s Sphere residency begins April 8, with additional dates on April 10, 11, 15, 17 and 18. Travel and VIP packages go on sale first at 10 a.m. PT on Wednesday (Sept. 30). An artist presale opens a week later on Oct. 7 at 10 a.m. PT, with registration currently open on Mayer’s website.

Mayer joins a growing lineup of major artists performing at the Sphere since its 2023 opening. Metallica starts its run at the venue on Thursday (Oct. 1), while the Eagles return later this fall following two concerts in early September.

The announcement follows Mayer’s celebration of the 20-year anniversary of his third album, Continuum, which included major career hits such as “Waiting on the World to Change” and “Gravity.” In an Instagram post marking the milestone, the musician stated that he does not usually celebrate album anniversaries but felt compelled to honor Continuum because it changed his life.

“I’d had success already, but everything clicked into place on this album,” he wrote on Sept. 12. “When I think back on what made the album so special, some thoughts come to mind, and they’re worth my remembering: Life came into the room … You have to become different versions of yourself to create a lasting body of work. Nobody cares how long it takes if the music is meaningful. If you want to make something truly special, you have to bring talented people in the room to contribute.”
