Gone, but never forgotten. John Legend and Chrissy Teigen’s beloved dog Pippa died Thursday (July 15), and both stars shared heartfelt remembrances in separate Instagram posts.
The 12-time Grammy winner shared a sweet photo of himself smiling with his pooch — who was sporting a serious pearl necklace — on his lap. “We’re going to miss our little Pippa. This pic is her living her best life: on the road with her dad, wearing pearls,” he began his caption. “We got her near Gainesville FL so I gave her my best impression of a southern accent whenever I spoke for her.”
The artist also told fans about his dog’s personality. “She was smart, fancy and didn’t take any s—,” he shared. “She gave us so much joy for 10 years. We love you Pippa!”
Like her husband Legend, Teigen also shared a selfie with her dog, and revealed in her caption that Pippa crossed the rainbow bridge while being held by the cookbook author. “our beautiful little pippa just died in my arms, not long ago,” Teigen explained. “she was 10, I remember picking her up in Gainesville and documenting our trip home.”
The TV personality also noted her dog’s sassy attitude, love for the necklace Legend previously mentioned, and how Pippa joined them on tour. “we loved her so much. We love you sweet girl,” Teigen wrote as she wrapped up her post. “I know you’re giving puddy hell up there. Thank you for giving us your whole life.”
The couple’s other late dog Puddy died in March 2018. “John and I got Puddy in our first year of dating, when I convinced him half-birthday presents were a real thing,” she shared at the time. A second post about Puddy’s passing featured photos of Puddy and Pippa in wedding attire. Teigen captioned that second post: “not many people know this, but puddy is survived by his wife, Pippa. yes, they were married.”
Legend and Teigen added to their canine family in 2020 when they adopted a standard poodle puppy named Petey.
