John Goodman to Join The Last of Us Season 3

HBO’s hit post-apocalyptic series The Last of Us has added three notable names to its roster for the upcoming third season. Emmy Award winner John Goodman leads the new additions, alongside Ian Alexander and Laura Bailey. The latter two will be familiar faces to fans of the video game franchise, as both actors are reprising roles they originated in The Last of Us Part II.

Goodman is set to portray Joey, one half of a duo known as the “Highway Heroes.” While the characters are described as a friendly pair, specific details regarding their narrative arc remain under wraps. Ian Alexander has been cast as Paco, Joey’s partner.

The franchise is also welcoming back a pivotal voice from the source material. Laura Bailey, best known for voicing Abby in the second game, will take on the role of Elizabeth, a prominent leader within the Seraphites—a religious faction making its debut in the show’s third season. (Note: The role of Abby in the television series is played by Kaitlyn Dever.)
