John C. Reilly’s Busy Week in Nashville: Hosting the Americana Honors & Awards, Appearing at AMERICANAFEST, and More

John C. Reilly will host the 2025 Americana Honors & Awards at Nashville’s historic Ryman Auditorium on September 10. His Music City residency begins September 9, when he re-emerges as his Mister Romantic persona at the Franklin Theatre.

On September 11, Reilly will sit down with Grammy-winning rock icon Jack White for a keynote conversation at AMERICANAFEST, hosted at the Embassy Suites by Hilton Nashville Downtown. Together, they’ll delve into the nexus of film and music, exploring their shared creative journeys.

Reilly and White’s partnership dates back to 2011, when Reilly recorded tracks produced by White for Third Man Records. Most recently, Reilly starred as the lead in White’s music video for “Archbishop Harold Homes.”

Also on September 11, Nashville institution Grimey’s will welcome Reilly for an exclusive in-store signing of What’s Not to Love?, his debut record under the Mister Romantic moniker.

Released June 13 via his own Eternal Magic Recordings, the album juxtaposes timeless standards like “I’ll Be Seeing You,” “Moonlight Serenade,” and “What’ll I Do” with contemporary compositions by Tom Waits and Randy Newman. It’s currently under Grammy consideration for Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album.

At 60, Reilly’s accolades span multiple disciplines: an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor in Chicago (2002), a Tony nomination for Best Actor in a Play for True West (2000), and a Grammy nod for co-writing “Walk Hard” from Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story (2009).
