Jim Carrey to Receive Honorary César Award

Actor Jim Carrey will be presented with an honorary César from France in recognition of his career achievements, according to Variety.

The formal ceremony is set for 27 February 2026 in Paris. Past honorees include Meryl Streep, Robert Redford, Julia Roberts, Cate Blanchett and others.

“His career is defined by exceptional versatility: in film he moves effortlessly between mainstream blockbusters and auteur-driven work; on television, his touching and nuanced performance in Showtime’s Kidding once again confirmed the wide scope of his talent,” the French Academy of Cinema said in a statement.

Carrey is widely recognized for his performances in The Mask, Ace Ventura, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind and dozens of other titles. In recent years he has appeared as a villain in the Sonic the Hedgehog film franchise.
