Academy Award winners Jessica Chastain and Octavia Spencer are set to headline the forthcoming comedy Deck the Y’Alls, Deadline reports.
The story follows Rachel (Chastain), a New York baker who falls for Bo and travels to Charleston, South Carolina to spend Christmas with his family. Once there, she encounters the family’s resolute matriarch, Gladys (Spencer). The two women must navigate their differences to find common ground and keep the holiday celebrations from unraveling.
The screenplay is by Tracy Oliver (Girls Trip) and Stephanie Williams. Comedian Wanda Sykes is also listed among the cast. No release date has been announced. Chastain and Spencer previously appeared together in the Oscar-winning film The Help (2011).
