Jeremy Irons to Play Villain in New ‘Highlander’
Oscar-winning actor Jeremy Irons has joined the reboot of the fantasy-action franchise “Highlander.” Amazon MGM is scheduled to release the film in spring 2027.
The cast also includes Henry Cavill, Russell Crowe, Dave Bautista and others. Chad Stahelski (“John Wick”) directs. The story centers on a war between immortal mages. Cavill recently sustained an injury during filming, which led to a temporary halt in production.
Irons will portray the leader of the menacing Keepers, the faction that exerts control over the Immortals. The actor most recently appeared in season four of Apple TV+’s “The Morning Show.”
