Baby on board! Jennifer Love Hewitt announced on Tuesday (May 18) that she and husband Brian Hallisay are expecting their third child.
“Oh baby! We have another one on the way!” the actress captioned a photo of herself holding up a Clearblue pregnancy test, a shocked expression on her face. “So excited to finally share this news with all of you.”
Hewitt, whose song “How Do I Heal” peaked at No. 59 spent eight weeks on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1999, also used the announcement to bring awareness to March of Dimes’ #ItStartsWithMom campaign, just in time for May’s Mental Health Awareness Month. As the star explained, the campaign provides women with resources on preparing for motherhood as well as maternal mental health and wellness.
The 9-1-1 star, who first shared the news with People, explained that she and Hallisay hadn’t planned on baby No. 3 — especially not during a global pandemic. “We had always been open to a third, but definitely didn’t think in the crazy year that the entire world was having that it would necessarily be this moment,” Hewitt told the magazine. “I feel like we’ve been able to so far raise two really special kids who will be great role models. This has been such a pleasant, beautiful, surprising gift in this time to be able to get to do all that again with another little human.”
Hewitt and Hallisay are already parents to daughter Autumn James, 7, and son Atticus James, 5.
The actress also shared with the magazine that it was thanks to Atticus she took a pregnancy test. While watching TV together, an ad for Clearblue came on, and as Hewitt recalled, her son said, “Hey, Mommy. You should order one of those in case there’s a baby in your belly.”
