Jennifer Lopez remained remarkably composed when an unexpected guest interrupted her live set.
A video shared on an official JLo fan Instagram account on August 10 captures the singer delivering a heartfelt ballad while a sizable cricket ventured up her torso and onto her shoulder. At the song’s final note, she deftly plucked the insect away in perfect sync with the fading percussion. “That tickled!” she laughed, sharing the moment with her audience.
The fan account quipped in its caption, “Plot twist: @JLo just began rehearsals for Kiss of the Cricket Woman… live on stage,” playfully referencing her upcoming leading role in the film Kiss of the Spider Woman.
This impromptu encounter occurred during the closing leg of her Up All Night tour, which kicked off in Spain last July. After a penultimate show in Kazakhstan on August 10, Lopez is scheduled to wrap the tour on August 12 in Italy. Following the tour’s conclusion, she will embark on a residency at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, with dates set for December, January and March.
While the cricket cameo was certainly memorable, it was not the first time Lopez has handled a live-show surprise with grace. During another recent performance, her skirt slipped mid-song—yet she merely shrugged it off and joked to the crowd, “I’m glad I had underwear on; I usually don’t.”
