Some of Quentin Tarantino’s most famous movies are being re-imagined for the stage next month, as part of a new cabaret show in Hollywood called “Tarantino Live: Fox Force Five & The Tyranny of Evil Men.”

The one-of-a-kind show follows a group of “fierce female superwomen” (popularized by Pulp Fiction) as they join forces to fight the “Tyranny of Evil Men” all while singing songs from Tarantino’s roster of movie soundtracks and reciting a few of the director’s most famous film scenes and lines. The entire production takes place in a bar-style setting at The Bourbon Room, one of Hollywood’s most famous nightlife venues.

The cast of “Tarantino Live” includes singers and actors spanning the worlds of TV, film and Broadway. Among the stars: singer-songwriter Zane Carey, Pretty Little Liars actress Janel Parrish, TV star Lindsey Gort, and Tracie Thoms, who appeared in Tarantino’s 2007 slasher film, Death Proof, and also starred in the big-screen adaptation of Rent.

In a press release, producers promise “a one-of-a-kind, adrenaline-fueled performance combining Tarantino’s most iconic film scenes with live rock ‘n’ roll renditions of songs pulled straight from his legendary film albums” (expect lots of singing and dancing, and maybe some audience participation too).

While this isn’t the first time the show has been performed, this latest iteration has been updated to encompass Tarantino’s entire cinematic universe, including 2019’s Once Upon a Time in Hollywood and its Sixties-era songs like “California Dreamin’,” “You Keep Me Hangin’ On,” and “Ramblin’ Gamblin’ Man.”

The character-driven cabaret opens August 5th with previews and will run every Thursday to Sunday right until September 9th. Tickets range from $49 to $79 and are available at tarantinolive.com. You can also catch up on all of Quentin Tarantino’s movies right now by streaming his films on Amazon Video.

“Tarantino Live” is from the production company, For The Record, best known for creating immersive Broadway-style stage musicals inspired by popular movies.
